Histamine-Driven Immunotherapy
1930 - 1939
Histamine emerged as the central mediator of allergic reactions, and the demonstration that it could be chemically neutralized launched antihistamine development and clarified key vascular responses in allergy. At the same time, research into nasal uptake of allergens and early skin testing established exposure-based concepts and foundational diagnostic methods, while serologic studies began to connect immune protection with humoral factors and systemic predisposition to atopy.
